Avoiding Scams and Fraud
You can avoid fraud and would-be scammers by following these simple rules:
- If possible, deal locally with people you can meet in person - follow this one simple rule and you will avoid 99% of the scam attempts on Treasureplace.com.
- Treasureplace.com will never send emails that request you to enter your personal information or redirect you to logon to the site. Be very cautious of any email that asks you to reply with or enter your personal details no matter how real it looks. DO NOT click on any links or open any attachments within the content of the e-mail.
- Paying via Moneygram or any other wire service is not recommended and, therefore at your own risk - UNLESS you are 100% sure and certain regarding the Seller's credibility and legitimacy.
- Fake Cashier Checks & Money Orders are common, and banks will cash them and then hold you responsible when the fake is discovered weeks later.
- Treasureplace.com is not involved in any transaction, and does not handle payments, guarantee transactions or provide escrow services; UNLESS OTHERWISE UNDER CONTRACT AND/OR ENTERED INTO AN AGREEMENT with certain companies or private individuals to Sell Products and Collect Payments on their behalf.
- Never give out financal information for PUBLIC VIEW (bank account number, social security number, PayPal info, etc.). Your Treasureplace.com registered details like email address, phone no. and street address are ALL HIDDEN from public view in the Classified Ads section.
- Avoid deals involving shipping or escrow services. Again, unless you are 100% sure and certain regarding the Seller's credibility and legitimacy.
Treasureplace.com will not disclose any personal information without your consent unless :
(a) such information must be provided in order to answer any of your queries submitted to this site or otherwise to provide you with a service which you have requested from us; or
(b) such information is required by law to be disclosed. (more details under Privacy Policy)
If you believe that you may have entered a hoax website, please contact us immediately by clicking (and using) the "Contact Us" page ONLY, which is located on the top left hand side of every page, and we will investigate this matter right away.
